Sterling Vineyards
I went to Sterling Vineyards in Napa Valley yesterday!
It was found by Peter Newton 50 years ago. Sterling Vineyards is a huge Winery. We got up there by a Cable Car. We saw how wine was made. First, they harvested the grape in September, October, and November. Then, they would take the stems off. After that, for the white wine, they would remove the skin of the green grapes and crush it gently. For the purple grape they would crush it leaving some of the skin because the grape skin gave most of the color to the red wine. After that they would toast barrels and store the wine in the barrels. If it was burned lightly, it would taste like vanilla and other spices and if it was burned heavily it would have an oak or a chocolate taste.
The visit to the Winery was educational and also fun.
