Did you know it is Noble Prize week? Do you also know what Nobel Prize is? Well if you do not then I will tell you a little about it.
The Nobel Prize was introduced by Alfred Nobel. It all started when Alfred Nobel made dynamite. But very soon he realized that people used dynamite for bad things too. He was unhappy. So he gave his wealth to 2 organizations in Norway and Sweden. He asked them to give the people who did something great in chemistry, physics, medicine, peace, and literature a prize every year. This prize is a gold medal and 1.2 million dollars. Nobel Prize was first given in 1901. Then they added the economics Nobel Prize in 1968.
In 2013, The Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons received the Nobel prize in peace.
