Spelling Bee

A Spelling Bee  is a spelling contest where judges ask the contestants hard words. The Spelling Bee  originated in the United States. The first winner of the Spelling Bee was Frank Neuhaser age 11 in 1925. The key reference book for the contest was Unabridged Merriam Webster Dictionary. Today it is called the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee.
